Dataset description

The National Access Point to transport data (transport.data.gouv.fr) produces a **national database of Low Emission Areas set up by French metropolises**. The data in this national database are in accordance with [the data schema](https://schema.data.gouv.fr/etalab/schema-zfe/) set up to model these data and constitute an aggregate [data published on the national access point](https://transport.data.gouv.fr/datasets?type=low-emission-zones). #### Files published The NAP publishes 2 files, updated regularly, as soon as metropolises make these data available in a manner consistent with the scheme (without errors). — ‘aires.geojson’ contains traffic limitation rules on areas concerning different types of vehicles (special vehicles, commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, etc.) where it is no longer possible to operate on the basis of Crit’Air certificates. — ‘routes.geojson’ contains exceptions on certain roads or the Low Emission Area has different rules. The local authorities set periods when traffic is restricted, the types of vehicles concerned (cars, heavy goods vehicles, etc.) and the minimum level of Crit’Air stickers to be able to operate in an area. The national basis of the ZFEs contains the description of these rules. The database gathers information about the ZFE _“active”_ but also on the ZFE _“project”_. The dates of application of the regulations are therefore specified in the data (see ‘date_debut’ and ‘date_fin’). #### Re-use this data The data are available in [Open License Etalab 2.0](https://www.etalab.gouv.fr/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/ETALAB-Licence-Ouverte-v2.0.pdf). You can use this data freely by quoting the source. Encourage data producers to maintain a quality database [referring to your re-use](https://guides.etalab.gouv.fr/reutilisation/publier-reutilisation/#comment-referencer-une-reutilisation). #### Complete the national database If you find that data from an active ZFE-m has not been incorporated into the National Base, please indicate this in the comments or by contacting us: [email protected] #### More information — [description of the data model](https://schema.data.gouv.fr/etalab/schema-zfe/) — [detailed document on transport.data.gouv.fr](https://doc.transport.data.gouv.fr/producteurs/zones-a-faibles-emissions) — [low-emission zones: to breathe better in the city](https://www.gouvernement.fr/les-actions-du-gouvernement/transition-ecologique/zones-a-faibles-emissions-pour-mieux-respirer-en) on government.fr
