Dataset description
On 11 November 1942, following the Allied landing in North Africa on 8 November (Operation Torch), the free zone was invaded by Germans and Italians. Therefore, the free zone is called the “southern zone” and the occupied area is called the “northern zone”.
This data was made from the description of the line as described in the documents of the armistice of 22 June 1940, as well as various maps of eras such as the Michelin cards.
