Dataset description
**Official name of routes incorporating the date of the name, the regulations and information on the history and origin of the name.**
This corresponds to the data highlighted by the cartographic application on [paris.fr](http://paris.fr/): [Official nomenclature des Chemins de Paris.](https://capgeo.sig.paris.fr/Apps/NomenclatureVoies/)
Geographical data allowing to consult the timeliness of the appointments of track right-of-way for deliberation at the Paris Council.
This dataset also allows some pathways to have information on historical names.
The data schema is explained and detailed at the bottom of this leaflet in the “Data Model” section
WARNING
This mapping represents the surface right-of-way of a track name. This right-of-way was defined either from the denominational plan, taking into account the addresses given to the riparian parcels, or in the absence of a historical description plan for the track representation.
To this graphical representation are added information from the original documents kept by the Department of Topography and Foncière Documentation of the Urbanisation Directorate of the City of Paris: texts and plans relating to the establishment of the public domain of roads (alignment, levelling, classification and decommissioning), texts awarding or approving the names of roads.
The nomenclature indicates, for each of the Parisian routes: its official name, its district, its neighbourhood, its dimensions, the place where it begins, the place where it ends, its old names and the origin of its current name. Where appropriate, reference shall also be made to documents of the type of letters patent, orders, decrees or orders relating to the opening, classification, alignment, levelling, authorisation for the opening of private roads to public traffic and the implementation of legislation concerning the upgrading of private roads.
Some cited pathways are not named and are identified by an alphabetical sequence and location rounding, such as track AJ/16. This identification stems from the application of the Prefectural Decree of 14 May 1956, adopted to meet the requirements of the texts reforming land advertising, which had the effect, inter alia, of systematically assigning provisional names to unnamed channels. These pathways, either pre-existing or new, are generally private in nature such as “common passageways”, but may be public or private intended to become public.
The legal status of a pathway (which can always evolve) is given as an indication. It is reliable when the mention of an administrative act is specified (orders on classification, fixing of alignments, decommissioning, opening to public traffic of private roads).
The search is done without accent. Names with numbers and letters must be searched by numerical and non-literary figures.
