Data from the following digital consultation campaign: What new aesthetics in Paris tomorrow? The consultation was open on idee.paris from 10 March to 30 June 2021. Paris is a city of extraordinary beauty, forged by materials such as stone, glass or zinc, colors, regular lines. But the Capital cannot be reduced to the projects of Baron Haussmann and Adolphe Alphand, who designed our city in the 19th century. This urban grammar has not permeated all the districts of Paris in the same way. Paris is a multiple city and in the image of its inhabitants: striking contrasts, between tradition and modernity. The uniqueness of Parisian beauty is thus at the crossroads between heritage conservation and innovation. Today, the climate crisis is changing the game: need for massive vegetation, development of soft mobilities, debiting... The radical and necessary transformation, underway in all major global metropolises, requires a complete rethinking of the Parisian urban landscape. So what will Paris look like tomorrow? The City wanted to transform the Paris “aesthetics” together: an aesthetic of a new urban landscape mixing plant and mineral, an aesthetic of zero carbon, an aesthetic adapted to its time with bio-based and reusable materials. Objective of the consultation: bring out lines of convergence to lead to a manifesto for a new Parisian aesthetic. The manifesto will put in place rules to declutter the public space of its unnecessary furniture, integrate the plant into our landscape, standardise colors, materials, lines because aesthetics is above all a question of harmony.
