This dataset presents the breakdown by department of green gas potential by type of resource and by sector in France by 2050.
The assumptions and context of the study are presented in the study “[A 100 % renewable gas mix in 2050?](http://www.grtgaz.com/fileadmin/medias/communiques/2018/FR/Etude-mix-gaz-100-pourcent-renouvelable-Etude.pdf)” published in February 2018 by ADEME, GRDF and GRTgaz.
The following primary resources are considered:
* methane production potential with CIMSE (Intermediate Multi-Service Environmental Cultures), crop residues, livestock waste, grasses, agri-food industry residues (IAA), bio-waste and algae, in GWh PCS;
* wood energy potential — in GWh PCI;
* the recovery energy potential: solid Recovery Fuels (CSR) and Fatal Hydrogen (H2) — in GWh PCI;
* the power generation potential by Power-to-Gas, in GWh elect.
In the study (see page 92), the potential for injectable gas is obtained by applying the following conversion efficiencies to primary resources:
* 94 % injected methane/methane produced,
* 70 % for gasification (wood potential energy and potential CSR),
* 66 % for power-to-gas.
