The elementary section of water body watercourse meets two objectives. First, to detail the composition of the body of watercourse in elementary sections located on the surface or underground (in the same way as the BDCarthage). The geometry of the theme Surface Water Mass/Rivières is then the aggregation of the elementary sections that compose it.
It also makes it possible to ensure the continuity of the water body network by creating fictitious sections through bodies of water, water body, coastal or transition, but also by ensuring the connection of water bodies through tributaries present in the BDCarthage hydrographic network but not identified as part of a water body in relation to the rules for the constitution of the water body reference system.
In the event that this section corresponds to an elemental section present in the BDCarthage, this element will inherit the characteristics of the elemental section in question.
Correspondence report DCE: this entity corresponds to WISE’s River Water Body Segment concept.
