Dataset description

As of Friday, April 8, 2022, the frequency of updating the data is monthly. ### Updated 14/01/2022 The data since January 2021 have been updated: the reference population is updated monthly, updating age and places of residence, and excluding those who have died. ### General information: The data present information on vaccination against Covid-19 by public inter-municipal cooperation institution (EPCI) of residence of patients and age group. For each EPCI and age group, the following are presented: \- patient numbers: * having received at least one first injection; * whose initial vaccination schedule is completed; \- patient rates: * having received at least one first injection; * whose initial vaccination scheme is completed. These numbers and rates are offered weekly and cumulative since the start of the vaccination campaign. ### Source data used to form the dataset: The available data are calculated from the information collected in the Vaccin Covid teleservice. Launched on 4 January 2021 by Sick Insurance, this information system centralises individual data on COVID-19 vaccination to ensure traceability for pharmacovigilance and control of the vaccination campaign. These individual data are pseudonymised and matched to the National Health Data System (SNDS) to provide vaccination rates based on the EPCI of the patient’s place of residence. An anonymous aggregated dataset is then created. The EPCI 2021 database (Insee source) is used to create data splitting. ### Points of attention: * It is possible that a patient receives only one injection and that his initial vaccination schedule is thus completed: cases of injection vaccines or patients who have already had Covid-19, for example; * The reference population for the calculation of the number of vaccinated patients and for the calculation of rates is the population of the mapping of pathologies and expenditure of the Sickness Insurance, and not the population identified by INSEE whose breakdown by age group and by municipality dates from 2017. This population is updated monthly, updating age and places of residence, and excluding deceased persons; * Only vaccinated patients in the population of disease mapping and sickness insurance expenses are included in the population (> 95 % of vaccinated persons); * Distribution by EPCI is not possible for some patients whose department of residence or municipality is unknown. These patients are attached to the EPCI “999999999” in the dataset. ### What is the population of sickness insurance pathology and expenditure mapping? The mapping population lists all beneficiaries of compulsory health insurance, regardless of their affiliation scheme: * having received at least one benefit in the year; * and/or having stayed at least once in a public or private health facility within the year (residence in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, psychiatry, follow-on and rehabilitation care, external procedures and consultations or hospitalisation at home). It provides a population close to 67.7 million beneficiaries of all health insurance schemes, who have resorted to paid care. This population is used by the Caisse nationale de l’assurance Maladie (Cnam) for numerous studies and to produce data on certain pathologies and expenses of sickness insurance. Thus, its use here allows to calculate vaccination rates with the most recent population possible (December 2020). For more information on mapping, see the following articles available in the Study & Data section: * [presentation of the mapping of pathologies and expenses of sickness insurance](https://assurance-maladie.ameli.fr/etudes-et-donnees/entree-par-theme/pathologies/cartographie-assurance-maladie/presentation/cartographie-pathologies-depenses-assurance-maladie) * [Mapping Method for Disease Insurance Pathologies and Expenditures](https://assurance-maladie.ameli.fr/etudes-et-donnees/entree-par-theme/pathologies/cartographie-assurance-maladie/methode/methode-cartographie-pathologies-depenses-assurance-maladie) ### Territorial division: The associated EPCI is that of the patient’s place of residence, not the place of vaccination. Data are returned to metropolitan France and DROMs.COM data are excluded due to too small numbers. ### Characteristics of the population: The age is calculated on the 1st day of the month of the data update (updated each month). Children under the age of 18 are taken into account. Deceased beneficiaries are excluded. ### Statistical secret: In compliance with statistical confidentiality (Law of 7 June 1951) and in order to make it impossible to identify individuals directly or indirectly, no information on numbers and vaccination rates is provided when the number of vaccinated patients is less than 11. The indicator value is then empty in the dataset and set to “Not significant” in the graphic representations. Staff over 10 are rounded up to ten. Rates are calculated on the basis of actual staff. ### Updated data: The data proposed for download in the “Export” tab are updated monthly.
