Data derived from the COVADIS standard for n' display the maximum speeds of the marine submersion hazard on the Important Risk Territory (TRI) of the island of Cayenne.
An area for which a hazard of a certain type under a certain scenario causes a rise of water whose height is within a fixed range of values. A height class iso area is an area for which all water heights are within the same height range.
A height class iso area is characterised by its spatial extension and the minimum and maximum terminals of the height range.
Data sets produced by the GIS Flooding Directive at a significant risk of flooding (TRI) of Cayenne Island and mapping for reporting purposes for the European Flood Directive.
The European Directive 2007/60/EC of 23 October 2007 on the assessment and risk management of flooding (OJ L 288, 06-11-2007, p. 27) influences the flood prevention strategy in Europe. It requires the production of flood risk management plans aimed at reducing the negative consequences of flooding on human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activity.
The objectives and requirements for realignment are given by the Law of 12 July 2010 on the National Commitment for the Environment (LENE) and the Decree of 2 March 2011. In this context, the primary objective of the mapping of floodable surfaces and risks of ' flooding for IRRs is to contribute, by homogehising and objecting knowledge of the \#x27; exposure of issues to floods, to the elaboration of Flood Risk Management Plans (FRMPs).
This series of data is used to produce the flood maps and the flood risk map that take the flood aleases and the stakes respectively expose to an appropriate scale. Their objective is to provide quantitative information to assess more finely the vulnerability of a territory for the three levels of probabilistic flooding (high, medium, low).
__Origin__
The dataset comes from a 2D hydraulic modelling carried out with the TELEMAC software by the office of ARTELIA in 2016. The full report can be downloaded at the following address: http://www.guyane.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/territoire-a-risque-important-d-inondation-de-l-a1024.html (Full report on the methodology for producing TRI maps 2017). This model is based on airborne laser topography (LIDAR Methodology) in 2014.
This data is validated and official until the creation of a new dataset (the Flood Directive follows a 6-year cycle).
It follows the standard COVADIS " Flood Directive".
The projection is that of French Guiana: EPSG 2972. Altitudes are expressed according to NGG 77.
