A plan to combat green algae (ulva) was defined by the State on 05/02/2010, due to phenomena of proliferation of green algae observed on the Breton coasts. It concerns 14 catchment areas whose nitrate flows must be reduced by at least 30 % (provision 10A-1) under the Master Plan for Water Planning and Management (SDAGE) Loire Bretagne approved on 18/11/2009.
The 14 catchment areas, described in the fact sheet entitled & Watersheds Green Algae in Brittany; are here aggregated into 8 green algae berries.
These hydrographic contours are translated into zonages of type "territory action " described in the fact sheets entitled &Zonage territoire 'action basins' green Algae slopes in Brittany" and &Zonage 'territory action' green Algae Bays in Brittany".
