Health Accounts

The health accounts track the expenditure and analyse in detail the final consumption of health care in France and the corresponding funding, whether they fall under Sickness Insurance, the State, local authorities, complementary bodies or directly households. Developed by DREES, health accounts are one of INSEE’s National Accounts satellites and adopt the methodology. They also serve as a basis for the preparation of health accounts presented in international fora (OECD, Eurostat and WHO HAS system) and thus allow for reliable and harmonised international comparisons.
