Location of hydrobiological quality analysis stations in the Seine
* * *
The Department participates in the monitoring of the hydrobiological state of the Seine within the framework of the “Schema of sustainable development and management of the Seine and its banks” adopted by the Departmental Assembly on 24 February 2006. The Seine can indeed be impacted locally by the Department’s bank developments, and some developments can also be effective and improve the quality of the local aquatic environment, such as the creation of spawning grounds along the river.
In 2009, a multi-annual programme of measures was established jointly with the State services (DRIEAT, OFB, AESN) and SIAAP. It was based on 7 sampling stations spread over the 39 km of Seine line of the Department.
In 2015 and 2017, two new stations came to strengthen this historic network in order to identify in particular the impact of bank developments as part of the “Vallée Left Bank” project and in Nanterre on the hydrobiological quality of the Seine.
Since 2020, with the aim of responding even more to the operational needs of the Water Directorate, the stations monitored are intended to evolve regularly with regard to the remediation and improvements of banks carried out or projected under the laws of the banks of the Seine. Each year, stations can be newly created, continued or abandoned.

**Special observations**
This dataset is produced in order to map the results of the annual analyses of the hydrobiological quality of the Seine. This data is associated with measures of fish productivity that are produced annually. The measurements are available in the data set entitled “Diversity of fish in the Seine”, the station number being indicated in the file name.
The analysis station n°1bis was added from the 2015 campaign to identify the impact of riverbank developments as part of the “left bank valley” project. The analysis station n°6bis was added from the 2017 campaign to monitor the state of the environment after the development of banks in Nanterre.
