Definition Sander: “The hydrographic division is the set of four hierarchical partitions of the French territory made according to descending hydrographic areas: — hydrographic region (1st order), — hydrographic sector (2nd order), — hydrographic subsector (3 rd order), — hydrographic area (4th order). A sector shall be divided into a maximum of 10 subsectors and one subsector shall be divided into a maximum of 10 hydrographic zones.’;
The number of hydrographic regions has been set at 5 for Guyana according to the SANDRE coding rules. The determination of their limits is under the responsibility of DEAL Guyana.
