(ICPE — SEVESO) Installations classified for environmental protection in Pays de la Loire

In France, certain installations operated by undertakings or communities in particular present dangers or disadvantages to the convenience of residents, health, safety, public health, agriculture, the protection of nature and the environment, the conservation of sites and monuments. For this reason, they are subject to a specific regulatory framework and may be subject to inspection by the State services or by private bodies for the least sensitive installations subject to periodic inspection. For this purpose, these installations are classified under the title “Environmental Protection Plants — ICPE”. Depending on their level of nuisance and/or hazard, these ICPEs operate either under Authorisation (A), Registration (E), Control Reporting (DC) or Declaration (D) regime.
