In order to solve the problem of illegal moorings or moorings likely to alter the condition of posidonia herbariums, temporary occupation authorisations (TAOs) for individual anchorages are issued by the Prefect of Var.
Grouped in 76 areas along the coast, these AOTs, like any occupation of public maritime domain dependencies (DPM) are precarious and revocable (Articles L2122-1 to L 2122-3 of the CGPPP), issued in a personal capacity and are subject to a State fee by its beneficiary (Articles L 2124 of the CGPPP) paid to the Public Finance Directorate (Local Service du Domaine).
The implementation of this scheme takes account of Natura 2000 areas, involving regulations for the appropriate mooring system for the preservation of wildlife such as posidonia herbarium or other (ecological wetting).
The ultimate objective is to reduce the number of AOT areas as well as to transform those that will be maintained into ZMEL (weaning and light equipment areas).
__Origin__
The anchorage areas are the geo-referenced report in WGS84 on the PVA2017 color orthophoto cartographic background of l'IGN.
These areas have been identified and implemented on site, taking into account tagging plans and Natura 2000 or other areas in order not to interfere with these various parameters.
The data are updated annually according to changes in the number of occupancy, creation, deletion or modification of any of these areas.
