Departmental Social Indicators (DSI) are the common foundation of an information system shared between national and departmental levels in the main areas of departmental social action. The main departmental benefit for the elderly is the Personalised Self-Employment Benefit (PAA). It is paid to persons aged 60 years and over assessed in a situation of loss of autonomy, who are recognised as being necessary to carry out the essential actions of life. Next comes the Social Housing Assistance (ASH), which is an in-house care support for elderly people whose resources and those of the food obligation are insufficient, and which can be the subject of a succession appeal. Finally, the Departmental Council also provides household aid.
