As part of the strengthening of the partnership between the State and local and regional authorities in the field of external action, 13 diplomatic advisers are now in office with regional prefects, both in metropolitan France and abroad. Their role as facilitator and interface between the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the decentralised services of the State on the one hand, and with the various international regional actors on the other, is crucial to ensure the coherence and effectiveness of France’s external action as a whole.
