Location of residential services: analysis of the territorialisation of the residential economy at the intrametropolitan scale

The geography of services is a still under-worked area of investigation, compared to the geography of productive activities, and among the services that are intended for households, few spatial analyses are carried out. The aim of this study is to produce statistical data to characterise and analyse the spatial distribution of services for the population.The report is organised in four main parts: The framework for economic analysis and the working methodology The quantification of residential and tourist employment in metropolitan France. Factors in the location of residential and tourist employment. A fifth part aims at synthesising the main elements of the results and placing them in a territorial development perspective.
