Map of reported net income of tax households in 2010 by municipality. The net reported income (or tax income) of the household (www.insee.fr) consists of the resources mentioned on the return of income, so-called return no. 2042. It therefore includes the cumulation of income from employed or self-employed activity, unemployment, sickness, invalidity or retirement pensions and part of wealth income. Maintenance payments are excluded as well as exceptional income and income from assets exempt from tax (housing savings, etc.). On the other hand, income on return No 2042 and subject to release is included (e.g. bond income). This is income before deductions and allowances granted by the tax legislation. These incomes are net of social contributions and the general social contribution (CSG). The tax household (www.insee.fr) refers to all persons registered on the same tax return. There may be several tax homes in a single household: for example, an unmarried couple where everyone completes their own tax return counts for two tax homes.
