The National Urban Renovation Programme, as defined by the law of 1 August 2003, amended by the law of 18 January 2005 and, extended by the State/UESL agreement of May 2006, provides for the conduct of Urban Renovation Projects on fragile neighbourhoods classified as ZUS (and neighbourhoods benefiting from a derogation called “Article 6”). This results in the improvement of urban spaces, the development of public facilities, the rehabilitation and residentisation of social rental housing, the demolition for old age or for a better urban housing organisation, or the development of a new housing supply, with diversified forms and statuses.
ANRU coordinates the National Urban Renovation Programme.
