Dataset description

Mountain area under the law of 9 January 1985, the so-called “mountain law”, as amended by Law No 2005-157 of 23 February 2005 on the development of rural areas. Article 3 of the Law: mountain areas are characterised by significant handicaps leading to more difficult living conditions and restricting the exercise of certain economic activities. They include municipalities or parts of communes characterised by a considerable limitation of the possibilities of land use and a significant increase in the costs of work due to: — or at #x27; existence, due to altitude, of very difficult climatic conditions, — or at the presence, at a lower altitude, of strong slopes, or to the combination of these two factors. __Origin__ This JDD was created on the perimeter of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region during the heritage harmonisation project in June 2016.
