This dataset contains the location of municipalities and their membership in a Public Institution of Intercommunal Cooperation (EPCI), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
Public institutions for inter-municipal cooperation (EPCI) are groupings of municipalities whose object is to draw up “joint development projects within solidarity perimeters”. They are subject to common, homogeneous and comparable rules to those of local authorities.
The information presented here relates only to the following own taxation EPCIs: Metropolis (ME); Community d' Agglomeration (CA); Community of Communes (CC).
There are also EPCIs without own taxation: single Vocation Intercommunal Unions (SIVU), Multiple Vocation Intercommunal Unions (SIVOM), Closed Mixed Unions (SM Closed) and Open Mixed Unions (SM Open).
The list of municipalities of EPCIs with own taxation can be downloaded from the website of INSEE.
