Status of Coast Line Surveys in December 2015, on the Cayenne Island sector. Surveys carried out by the Observatoire de la Dynamique Côtière de Guyane. The rib line is defined as the boundary between the top of the beach and the back beach. This limit can be materialised by: the foot of the micro-foam if an erosion front is present; the foot of the layout if a work is present; the vegetation limit and/or the sea leash limit. The planned acquisition frequency within the framework of the coastal dynamics observatory is of an annual type, around October (dry season).
__Origin__
Ground measurements are made using a differential GPS (Trimble® R5800 until 2016 and R8s from October 2016) consisting of a base/mobile system. A fixed station is positioned at a known point (base). The differential correction with the mobile station, fixed on a pole or on a bag, is communicated by radio in real time and records the survey points with centimeter accuracy (± 10 cm). The rib line survey is a continuous acquisition (one point every meter) of GPS coordinates by following a rib line indicator. The geodetic reference used is the RGFG95 based on the 1980 IAG-GRS ellipsoid and a UTM 22 North projection. The associated altimeter system is NGG 1977. The quality and environmental management system is certified by AFNOR according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
