Perimeters of the cantons within the meaning of INSEE in the Landes department

The canton within the meaning of INSEE is an administrative subdivision of a department. The canton is a territorial subdivision of the borough. C' is the electoral district in which a general councillor is elected. The cantons were created, like the departments, by the Act of 22 December 1789. In most cases, the cantons encompass several municipalities. But the cantons do not always respect the municipal boundaries: the most populous municipalities belong to several cantons. A canton belongs to one and only one district. __Origin__ The boundaries of a zone are represented on the graphical documents of the PLU or POS. They generally correspond to the boundaries of n°#x27; an aggregate of cadastral plots. The geometry of cadastral plots is a data derived from the cadastral geographical reference chosen at the time of the; elaboration of the document d' urbanism.
