The Plan for the Prevention of Risks Floods of the Loire downstream in the region; Nantes agglomeration concerns ten municipalities: Bouguenais, Couëron, Indre, La Montagne, Le Pellerin, Nantes, Rezé, Saint-Herblain, Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau and Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire.
Nantes Métropole and the municipalities concerned by the PPRI have been associated with its development, led by the Direction Départementale des Territoires et de la Mer de la Loire-Atlantique (DDTM 44) PPRi Instructor Service under the auspices of the Prefect.
The PPRI is a regulatory document designed to improve the safety of people and property from the risks of floods. It aims, as a matter of priority, not to exacerbate risks and to reduce vulnerability on perimeters; it covers, both from the point of view of future urbanisation and the construction methods and uses of the territory.
