It is particularly suitable for hydrological systems with superficial aquifers developing in relatively unpermeable environments, especially in all ancient massifs (Massif Armoricain, Massif Central...). It has been developed for watersheds of order 1 to 3 (Stalher ordination) (which often account for 80 % of the area of a watershed), where it is well adapted. It will be less relevant in higher watersheds, and in large wetlands (e.g. Redon marsh), coastal marshes.
