The poverty rate is the percentage of the population whose standard of living is below the poverty line. a person is considered poor when his or her standard of living is below the poverty line. INSEE, like Eurostat and other European countries, measures monetary poverty in a relative way. The threshold is determined in relation to the distribution of living standards of the entire population. INSEE, like Eurostat, favours the threshold at 60 % of the median. The data are that of 2018.
