L' Biotope Protection Order, better known as Simplified &d' Biotope "is defined by a relatively simple procedure aimed at the conservation of the habitat (understanding in the ecological sense, biodiversity) of #x27; protected species. A biotope protection order s' applies to the protection of environments little exploited by man and sheltering protected wild animal and/or plant species. It allows the prefect to fix by order the measures designed to promote, in all or part of the territory of; a department, the conservation of the biotopes necessary for the feeding, reproduction, rest or survival of protected species. The objectives are the preservation of biotope (understanding in the ecological sense of habitat) such as dunes, heaths, lawns, ponds, etc. necessary for the survival of\#x27; species protected under Articles L. 211-1 and L. 211-2 of the Rural Code and more generally #x27; prohibition of actions that may affect the environment; biological balance of the environment. The effects of classification: L' Decree lays down the measures that must allow the conservation of biotopes. The regulations laid down apply to the environment itself and not to the species that live there (maintenance of vegetation cover, water level, prohibition of deposits of trash, construction, d' extraction of materials, etc.)
