As part of the zero waste zero waste territory, Rennes Métropole wants to bring about changes in practices among users by encouraging residents to manage their plants at home.
In 2005, Rennes Métropole allowed different structures to acquire plant crushers by subsidising their purchase up to 50 % of the amount of the equipment purchased.
In order to disseminate this change of practice more widely, the community has decided to purchase plant grinders that will be made available to users of the metropolis through agreements with “relay” structures such as associations, works councils and municipalities. The structures will be responsible for the provision, training and routine maintenance of the equipment.
Rennes Métropole wishes to develop this service throughout the territory.
The objectives of this scheme are to:
encourage users to change practices for the management of plant plots;
reduce the tonnage of plants treated by the community (cash and door-to-door collection);
\- develop the functionality economy (interest of the lease or loan in relation to the purchase).
This layer of data makes it possible to locate the structures and inform the general public about the available equipment and the modalities of making available.
