The administrative DCE sub-basin is an intermediate level of ' aggregation between the mass of water and the DCE basin. It was implemented at the end of 2008 at the request of the European Commission for reporting and visualisation purposes within WISE (Water Information System for Europe).
In France, the administrative DCE sub-basin is defined as the area of competence of the Territorial Commissions.
The only exceptions to the division rule of WFD basins into administrative sub-basins are, in metropolitan France, the DCE basins: A, B1, B2, E and DOM-TOM. For them, the administrative EED sub-basin is equal to the DCE basin.
The administrative DCE sub-basin is derived from the BDCarto® administrative theme. Its cartographic representation is the aggregation of the polygons of the municipalities.
