### Our march: giving a voice to citizens
**Consult, take the time to listen to the “yes” or “no” to hear the opinions, desires and fears of each one constitutes the DNA of our movement.** It is by and with the Franks that we conceive the democratic debate, when others presume to speak on their behalf without ever consulting them.
With this commitment, The Public In March organised the Great March for Europe from 7 April to 13 May 2018. Before developing a project for the 2019 elections, we wanted to go to the field and **shake the doors of the French to give them the floor and listen to what they had to say about Europe, without trying to convince them.** Right: one of the main teachings of the Great March for Europe is that the French people have a lot to answer about Europe when asked what it evokes for them, what works, what does not work and what must change in the coming years.
**The figures reflect exceptional mobilisation.**
**More than 230,000 doors struck during 5,400 events in some 3,500 French municipalities and near 30 European cities.** From rural territories to pe-riurban areas, from large cities to sparsely populated areas of our country, in buildings, marches, on the street, thousands of flyers took their time to talk a few minutes with other citizens. Because we have targeted the least developed territories in Europe, dialogue has not only been established with the convinced, but also with the most critical, or ill-informed.
** It was 80,000 people who gave their opinions, feelings, criticisms and wishes about Europe.**
This enthusiasm has gone far beyond the framework of the mobilisation of walkers:
**3 out of 4 people who opened their doors agreed to answer and discuss Europe with us,** even when they didn't think they would share the same convictions we had. French people want to talk about Europe.
