Review of controls under the Nitrates Directive on agricultural holdings

The control balance includes controls from 2015 to 2019 carried out by DDTMs and DDPPs on agricultural holdings under the Nitrates Directive controls. Only the main items of Nitrates Directive controls associated with the regulatory measures of the 5th and 6th Nitrates Action Programme are in this summary. The data is extracted from the S3IC tracking software for DDPPs and from the annual DDTM dashboards. The number of checks and the number of follow-ups given to the checks are described for the following items: Respect for nitrogen fertilisation; balance of nitrogen fertilisation Maintenance of the forecast smoking plan in vulnerable areas and the booklet; spreading Calculation of 170 kg/AUS No direct discharges of effluent Capacities and tightness of storage structures Other controls, not listed in this balance sheet, are carried out by DDTMs, DDPPs or AFBs as part of the fight against diffuse pollution. __Origin__ The control indicators are calculated as follows: Number of farms: sum of holdings by category based on annual S3IC extraction for authorisations and registration — number of other holdings (RSD and declaration) deducted from the total target population for EPRs NB: there is no control plan imposed by the European Commission and the Ministry of the Environment for declarations and DSRs Number of checks carried out by zoning: — by type of holding: sum of the number of checks where DN items are all inspected (except calendar d' spreading) — per item: sum of all A, B, C and D or IC per item for all schemes Type of follow-up given to checks: — overall: sum of column ‘Global evaluation’ of A, B, C and D. — per item: sum of each category (A, B, C or D) In the event of an indicator merging: the number of controls is the lowest number of controls of the 2 items. The successful infringement is the strongest infringement given to one of the two items (such as A>B>C>D) DDTM and DDPP control data are summed up in the indicator display.
