#### Context
As part of the work of the National Access Point Team and the implementation of data opening to improve the information available to passengers, the transport team.data.gouv.fr in conjunction with the [Bison Futé] team(https://www.bison-fute.gouv.fr/) worked on the opening of road data for the [national road network](https://www.ecologie.gouv.fr/louverture-des-donnees-du-reseau-routier-national).
The French national road network consists of a coherent set of roads and motorways, whether granted or not, which are of “national or European interest”. These roads and motorways can be managed:
— by the [Interdepartmental Directorates of Roads (DIR)](https://lannuaire.service-public.fr/navigation/did_routes), devolved services of the State when they are not granted,
— by the [Sociétés Concessionaires d’Autoroute (SCA)](https://www.ecologie.gouv.fr/societes-concessionnaires-dautoroutes-sca) when they are granted.
Data on the static repository of the national road network are published by the Ministry of Ecology on data.gouv.fr:
— [network geometry](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/liaisons-du-reseau-routier-national/)
— [network birthing](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/bornage-du-reseau-routier-national/)
— [managers](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/gestionnaires-du-reseau-routier-national/)
— [road width](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/largeur-de-routes-sur-le-reseau-routier-national/)
— [nature of roads](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/nature-des-routes-du-reseau-routier-national/)
#### Perimeter of the dataset
The data referenced here relate to the road events of the **unlicensed network**: deviations, construction work in progress and forecasting, traffic jams, unexpected and dangerous events...
#### Purpose
The datasets referenced here show several cases of use:
— Enable route calculators to integrate these data in order to provide reliable and complete information on the ongoing disturbances on the unlicensed road network and thus steer towards alternative mobility solutions to the car;
— Allow any re-user to easily identify current or forecast events on their department.
#### Content
This dataset is produced by the Interdepartmental Directions des Routes. It contains:
— all ongoing road events on the national road network not granted in XML format based on the [European DATEX II standard](http://trafic-routier.data.cerema.fr/la-norme-europeenne-datex-ii-a58.html) described in [next diagram](https://datex2.eu/schema/2/2_0/DATEXIISchema_2_2_2.xsd).
— Summaries of these events sorted by type and department are referenced in HTML format:
— Summary of ongoing traffic jams
— Summary of ongoing road events
— Summary of ongoing construction projects
— Summary of the planned yards
The main XML event file is updated in real time, the summaries are refreshed regularly.
In addition, there is [aggregation of all events in XML format](http://tipi.bison-fute.gouv.fr/bison-fute-ouvert/publicationsDIR/Evenementiel-DIR/grt/RRN/content.xml) updated every hour.
