Dataset description
Public colleges give priority to pupils living in their recruitment sector. This area is determined by the student’s place of residence. It is therefore neither the primary school attended nor the place of work of the parents that determine the sector college(s).
It is the departmental council that defines the ‘school card of public colleges’, i.e. **the recruitment sectors of the various public colleges of the department**, specifying in which public college(s) the pupils who live in such an area of the department should be educated. When this promotes social diversity, the departmental council may decide that the same recruitment sector is shared by several public colleges (in this case referred to as “multi-college sector”). ****

The school map is collected by the Dasen and is taken into account in the Affelnet 6e application to proceed with the assignment of students. To automate the reconciliation between students’ addresses and their sector college(s), the Dasen may import a school card file into Affelnet 6th, provided that this file has been previously transmitted by the departmental council in a harmonised, nationally defined format.
The published dataset results from the aggregation, at national level, of the departmental files ** used by the Dasen to automatically determine the pupil sector college(s)**. For 2021, the dataset covers... departments. Note that in the following departments, a school card was imported into Affelnet 6th without the automatic determination functionality of the sector college being used. As the data of these departments may not be reliable, it has been chosen not to include them in the dataset. These are:
Dordogne, Eure, Gironde, Loire, Seine-Maritime, Var, Val de Marne, Martinique, Réunion.
Finally, the following departments have not yet integrated their school card data into the Affelnet 6e application: Aube, Charente-Maritime, Southern Corsica, Haute-Corse, Côtes d’Armor, Finistère, Gers, Haute-Marne, Meurthe and Moselle, Morbihan.
