SPA 2019 — Special Protection Areas

Special Protection Areas SPA Natura2000 Network — Birds Directive The Natura2000 network is at the heart of the EU’s nature conservation policy and is a key element of the objective of halting biodiversity erosion. This network is set up under two Community directives, the 1979 Birds Directive and the 1992 Habitats, Wildlife and Flore Directive. The National Museum of Natural History (MNHN) is responsible for the management and dissemination of national reference layers, sent to the European Commission. These results from the assembly of the elements transmitted by the DREALs. The integration, deletion or modification of a site follows an administrative procedure defined by the European Directive and national laws. The zps1912 layer contains all sites designated by France under the Birds Directive as of 15 December 2019.
