A wind farm is composed of one or more wind turbines producing electricity. The definition of wind farm has no administrative or regulatory basis. It is a purely abstract class corresponding to an aggregate of wind turbines. The polygonal geometry of a wind farm is only a proposed artifice for mapping wind turbines on a small scale. A wind farm is therefore represented by arbitrary boundaries and does not correspond to any administrative or physical hold on the ground. Origin A wind farm is obtained from the wind farm authorisation to which it has been granted. The creation of wind farm data is done as construction permits are processed and after all wind turbines from the same wind farm have been geolocated. The polygonal geometry of a wind farm is built from the georeferenced wind turbines belonging to that wind farm. Fleet modelling is performed automatically by a spatial function of the database, and no subsequent manual correction is made.
