Surveys for the diagnosis of the presence of asbestos in road coated areas

This layer makes it possible to locate the boreholes carried out on road surfaces upstream of the start of road works. These boreholes are mainly carried out on the pavement because asbestos was once used as a binder providing resistance to the structure of the pavement. Due to the potential re-use of recycled coatings that may contain asbestos, these boreholes can also be carried out on sidewalks. These surveys make it possible to diagnose and analyse whether or not asbestos is present. Asbestos has been banned since 31 December 1996. This layer is intended to be enriched by all the surveys that can be carried out by the various stakeholders on the road. Each contracting authority is asked to send a copy of the survey reports to the Manager department: Directorate of Highways-Heritage When the survey is dubious or positive (asbestos), the link to download the result report is available in the “link_report” field.
