The continental area data and services pole [THEIA] (https://www.theia-land.fr/), set up at the end of 2012, is intended to facilitate the use of images resulting from the observation of continental surfaces from space, in particular through the provision of products developed within the Scientific Expertise Centres (CES). The ESC (“snow surface”) (https://www.theia-land.fr/ceslist/ces-surface-enneigee/) of the THEIA cluster comprising teams from Cesbio, IGE, CNRM (CEN), LTHE and Legos has developed a Neige product. Its operational production started at the end of 2017. One of the [Neige products] (https://www.theia-land.fr/product/neige/) is the annual summary: Product L3B multi-date generated from snow masks at a resolution of 20 m x 20 m. One of its components, known as SCD (Snow Cover Duration), corresponds to the snow time: The value of each pixel of the raster corresponds to the number of snow days in a hydrological year (between September 01 and 31 August). Snow products are currently produced on a regular basis at the CNES using the production workshop [MUSCATE] (https://theia.cnes.fr/atdistrib/rocket/#/search?collection=Snow). The algorithm to develop these products has been implemented in an open-source processing chain called “Let-it-Snow”. The code and documentation are available on [Gitlab] (https://gitlab.orfeo-toolbox.org/remote_modules/let-it-snow). It is therefore the SCD product of the annual summary that is available in this dataset for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The data were criticised, broken down on the Occitanie region and merged. All information on these products is available on the [Neige webinar page] (https://www.openig.org/evenements/webinaire-de-presentation-des-produits-neige-theia-et-copernicus) held on 29 March 2021. A data visualisation application has been developed to compare snow time in Occitania. It is available [* * here * *] (https://www.openig.org/outils/visualisation-des-donnees-denneigement-en-occitanie).
