Terrier plans of the Duchy of Penthièvre (1785-1789)

This dataset gathers 122 plans relating to 17 parishes of the Duchy of Penthièvre (Andel, Erquy, Hillion, La Malhoure, Landehen, Maroué (Lamballe), Meslin, Morieux, Noyal, Penguily, Pléneuf-Val-André, Plestan, Quintenic, Saint-Aaron, Saint-Glen, Saint-Trimoël, Trégomar). Carried out between 1785 and 1789, they were intended to facilitate the process of managing the feudalities of the duchy. These plans, quite different in the information they give from the Napoleonic cadastre, allow a fairly good knowledge of the parcel (size and arrangement of plots) and the forms of dispersal of the habitat. On the other hand, they do not make it possible to individualise farms, nor to say how crops were used.
