Territory linked to a forest charter of territory (France)

The Territorial Forest Charters are established by Article L12 of the Act d' Direction sur la Forêt (LOF) of 9 July 2001. Their objective is to develop the link between the economic, social and cultural development of a forest territory. Following the law on the modernisation of agriculture and fisheries of 27 July 2010, the territorial forest charters are now linked to the local forest development strategies (SLDF).The territorial forest charter (CFT) is a tool of a contractual nature, implemented at the local level; initiative of local actors. It is based on an approach of consultation between the actors concerned by the forest and the forest sector of the territory, offerers (owners and managers of the forest) and applicants (all public: residents, users, socio-professionals, communities, forest owners) of goods and services rendered by the forest.
