Travelling exhibitions borrowable in archival services

**Public archival services create dozens of travelling exhibitions each year**. Designed from the outset to circulate or transformed at the end of a temporary exhibition, they can have a virtual declination, be accompanied by a catalogue or educational tools (pedagogical folder, questionnaire for school students, etc.). The dataset presents, region by region, the available exhibitions, which **may be loaned to any public or private institution** upon request (communities, associations, schools), free of charge, to be responsible for transport and insurance for signs. The loan conditions, the number of exhibition panels and their physical description can be obtained from each department. Many topics are discussed, reflecting the diversity of the holdings, from the Middle Ages to the present day. This may be **local history** or the **great story illustrated by local documents**. Alongside the two world wars, which are widely discussed, there are recurrent themes: school, sports, urban planning, means of transport, environment and agriculture, women, justice, daily life, advertising... The “great classics” of the archives are not forgotten through themes such as writing, heraldic, genealogy, cadastre. The dataset is updated annually.
