The MEL wished to affirm a new ambition in waste management to: \- Optimise the quality of its service and control costs; \- Respond in an innovative way to environmental challenges by minimising waste at source and maximising waste generated through, inter alia, the generalisation of sorting of plastic packaging, the collection at source of bio-waste, the separate collection of glass... For example, it has prepared a framework document called the “Director of Household Waste Plan” (SDDMA) which sets out the objectives and operation of the new waste management service, which was adopted in April 2021.
