An urban transport perimeter concerns the territory of a municipality or the territorial jurisdiction of; a public institution which has received a mission to organise public transport of passengers. At the request of the mayor or the president of the public institution, the representative of the State observes the creation of the perimeter, after consulting the General Council in the event that the departmental plan is concerned. [.] In the departments of Overseas, the representative of the State, on the proposal of the mayor or the president of the public institution, may define a perimeter excluding certain parts of the territory of the municipality. The urban transport perimeter may also include several adjacent municipalities that have decided to organise a public passenger transport service. The creation and delimitation of this perimeter are determined by the representative of the State at the request of the mayors of the municipalities concerned after the opinion of the general council.Only the PTUs in preparation or validated are part of this class of #x27; objects.Except special cases defined by law, l' decree of creation of n°#x27; a community of #x27; agglomeration or d' an urban community or an urban community; a public establishment of inter-municipal cooperation into a community of #x27; agglomeration or an urban community is equivalent to the establishment of an urban transport perimeter in accordance with the law on solidarity and urban renewal. The perimeters on which the SRU mixed trade unions, created by application of the SRU law, exercise their powers are not urban transport perimeters.
__Origin__
The list of municipalities adhering to each PTU comes from the national survey on urban public transport (TCU) carried out annually by CERTU. This list is then geocoded on the GEOFLA geographical repository of l'IGN. A PTU perimeter is constructed by the geometric aggregation of the polygons representing the municipalities concerned by this PTU. In Mapinfo, all communal objects of the same perimeter are geometrically assembled into an object (assembly function).
