A mass of river water is a distinct and significant part of surface waters such as a river, river or canal, part of a river, river or canal, constituting the elemental division of aquatic environments intended to be l' unit d' assessment of the WFD.
The river water masses are derived from the BDCarthage® v3 hydrographic theme of the BDCarto®.
The criteria for the realisation of the masses d'river water are:
— A body of water belongs to a single hydroecoregion
— The dominant fish settlement based on the fish context (Salmonicole, cyprinicole, Intermediate)
— Size class (strahler confluence row)
The code of mass d'water is structured as follows:
Mass type code d'water + Basin code (district as defined in dce) + Increment
Correspondence report DCE: this entity corresponds to WISE’s River Water Body (RWBODY) concept.
