Wetland of International Importance under the RAMSAR Convention in the Upper Rhine

The RAMSAR Convention shall apply to wetlands, i.e. areas of swamps, fagnes, peatlands, natural or artificial waters, permanent or temporary, where water is stagnant or running, soft, brackish or salty, including areas of #x27; marine water with a low tide depth n' not exceeding six metres. The wetlands concerned must be of international importance from an ecological, botanical, zoological, limnological or hydrological point of view. The Ramsar Convention (Iran) was signed on 2 February 1971 and ratified in France in 1986 Decree No. 87-126 of 20 February 1987 recalls the primary role of wetlands as habitat for birds of water. __Origin__ Varies by region.
