As part of the implementation of SRADDET, Cerema administers the database of collision observations with wildlife on the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes road network.
This database aggregates the data collected from the various partners in a protocol or opportunistic manner.
On the basis of the information collected, the Cerema conducts an exploitation of this data, with the aim of improving the knowledge of wildlife/vehicle conflict points at regional level, and to inform the implementation of public policies to restore ecological continuity.
The observation pressure, which is heterogeneous in the territory, makes it possible to exploit the data collected only on part of the regional road network for which the frequency of passing by observers is almost daily.
Thus, 6 000 km of road network can be described as to whether or not they are accidental to wildlife, out of the 60.000 km of road in the region.
For each section described, the number and linear density of collisions observed over the years 2018 and 2019, with details per animal family (large mammals, small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians) are given.
This operation is supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.
