Wine-growing AOC zones

The Designation of Origin Controls (AOC) of products corresponding to the criteria of the PDO and protects the designation in the territory of France. It is a step towards the PDO, from now on to european sign. It may also concern products not covered by European regulations (e.g. forest products).The production of wines is strictly regulated and controlled by the INAO (National Institute of Origin Appellations). Those rules provide for the issue of a label by the wine trade union concerned.
