In a digital flight on 30 April and 1 May 2001, hundreds of individual images were taken vertically from an aircraft. The high-resolution images with 10 cm of ground pixels were digitally equalised and precisely assembled using GPS data. This aerial mosaic of the urban area can be superimposed with maps. It is possible to measure routes and calculate areas. In a lower resolution, the Department of Geoinformation presents these aerial images on the Braunschweig Internet City Plan.
