The Baden-Württemberg air measurement network serves the long-term monitoring of air pollutants. The long-term measurement series allow statements about the temporal development of air pollution. The number of measuring points and their spatial arrangement in the country ensure a comprehensive monitoring of air quality. The following air pollutants are measured at the stations of the air measurement network, depending on the location and local immission situation:
— Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx)
— Particles PM10 and PM2,5
— Ozone (O3)
— Sulphur dioxide (SO2)
— Carbon monoxide (CO)
— Benzene
— Arsenic (As) as total salary in the PM10 @-@ faction
— Benzo (a) pyrene (B (a) P) as total content in the PM10 @-@ fraction
— Lead (Pb) as total content in PM10 @-@ fraction
— Cadmium (Cd) as total content in PM10 @-@ faction
— Nickel (Ni) as total content in PM10 @-@ fraction
The Baden-Württemberg air measurement network currently consists of 8 traffic measuring stations, 24 measuring stations in the urban background and 2 measuring stations in the rural background (status: 2013).
In addition to the mandatory air measurement network Baden-Württemberg, LUBW operates 2 measuring stations on behalf of third parties (stand: 2014).
