OGC-WebMapService (OGC:WMS) on the topic of Archaeological Interests for the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein with the exception of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. The service provides mappings of the archaeological areas of interest of the municipalities of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. According to § 12(6) of the Law on the Protection of Monuments of 30.12.2014 (DSchG), the areas designated as archaeological areas of interest are places of which it is known or may be suspected that there are cultural monuments. According to § 8 (1) DSchG, monuments are legally protected regardless of whether they are included in the list of monuments. In all projects and measures involving earthworks in these areas, it is therefore necessary to involve the Archaeological State Office Schleswig-Holstein in accordance with § 12 of the DSchG at an early stage. Since the creation of the archaeological areas of interest has not yet been completed, there are still many municipalities for which this information is not available. Communities in which no archaeological areas of interest are indicated are therefore not free of archaeologically relevant areas, but only not yet processed. Therefore, the participation of the Archaeological State Office of Schleswig-Holstein is also required here.
