Areas of occurrence and origin of local woods, here: B) Areas of occurrence:
The spatial data stock contains the digital boundaries of the A) ecological basic units, on the basis of which the areas of origin for forest timber derive according to the Forest Propagation Goods Act (FoVG) and B) the deposit areas of local woods that are not subject to the FoVG.
For species subject to the FoVG (A), an orientation is recommended for the interpretation of the notion of areas of origin based on the guidance in the “Guide on the use of local trees” (BMU 2012). For forest species with more than six areas of origin, the presented classification for local woods (B) should apply, while for forest species with less than six areas of origin the areas of origin according to FoVG should apply. The deposit areas (B) represent an aggregation of the basic ecological units, which serve the specificisation and application of the woods which are considered to be territorial, which are not subject to the FoVG.
The limits serve as a basis for the implementation of Section 40(4) of the BNatSchG within the framework of support measures, plans and projects of any kind in which the application of wood propagating material (seeds, cuttings, preferred woods) into the open nature plays a role.
